A shadow has spread across all of eastern Berladon, yet, in that very darkness the Herald has secured Abion, the legendary Kingsword and returned safely to the city of Elas-Tormas. But jealousies arise and many who should be friends prove themselves to be enemies as they seek to take Abion for themselves.

The Darklord, Mazzaroth has reclaimed two pieces of his Dark Trium. His winged army has emerged victorious everywhere they attack and now his eyes are fixed upon the last bastion of resistance in the east. If Elas-Tormas can be overthrown, the way into Mirion lies open. Gathering a large army, he prepares to assault the city.
